WJAC: Protesters walk from Pittsburgh to Philipsburg over immigrant treatment at detention center

WJAC reported on the conclusion of Frontline Dignity’s 130-mile walk from Pittsburgh to the Moshannon Valley Processing Center, with Jaime Martinez reflecting on the pilgrimage’s meaning.

“I’d actually call this a pilgrimage. We walked 130 miles over the course of eight days from the ICE office in Pittsburgh, all the way to the Moshannon Valley Detention Center here in Philipsburg, recognizing that we are walking for all those who cannot walk free,” Martinez said. “Recognizing that every day our neighbors are having their dignity stripped from them in systemic ways.”
