ABOUT

Born in Pittsburgh, Frontline DIGNITY is a community-rooted organization committed to defending the dignity and safety of every neighbor on the frontlines of federal immigration enforcement.
We exist to ensure that when enforcement shows up in neighborhoods, workplaces, and detention centers, communities are not isolated, unprepared, or forced to respond alone. Frontline DIGNITY operates as a fiscally sponsored project of The Global Switchboard.
We build community capacity to respond lawfully and effectively to immigration enforcement through rapid response training, organizer development, and strong local and national partnerships. Our work equips everyday people—neighbors, faith leaders, workers, and organizers—with the tools to witness, document, accompany, and protect one another when dignity is under threat.
Frontline DIGNITY operates on the belief that dignity means treating every person as an end in themselves, never as a means to an end. In a moment of escalating brutality and shrinking protections, we work to ensure communities are not isolated, unprepared, or forced to respond alone.
Our programs include Dignity in Action rapid response trainings delivered nationwide, which prepare communities to respond safely and ethically to immigration enforcement in real time. We also operate an incubator model based in Southwestern Pennsylvania that pilots, refines, and scales innovative organizing strategies rooted in local conditions and lived experience. Through Dignity Innovation Labs, we convene people across geography, sector, and creed to embed dignity into daily practice, organizational infrastructure, and community-centered work.
Frontline DIGNITY is built by and alongside everyday neighbors with experience in immigrant justice, faith-based organizing, and community defense. We exist to meet urgency with preparation, fear with solidarity, and cruelty with dignity.
Our Structure
Frontline DIGNITY operates as a fiscally sponsored project of The Global Switchboard, which provides the legal, financial, and administrative backbone that allows our team to focus on preparing communities to respond to indignity with care, coordination, and dignity.
Our work is shaped by people who understand both the national landscape and local reality.
A National Strategic Advisory Committee helps us stay ahead of shifts in tactics, pressure-test strategy, and think clearly about growth and risk as conditions change.
Alongside this, local and regional Frontline Advisory Committees keep our work grounded in real conditions on the ground—how enforcement is showing up, what communities need, and where harm or risk is emerging.
Together, Frontline DIGNITY stays locally rooted, nationally informed, and ready to respond as conditions change.
